THE SENTENCE

The Sentence is a one-act play about John Scrivener, who was burnt at the stake in 1521 for translating the bible into English.

The play toured in 2016, taking in churches, village halls, Barnstable Theatre Fringe Festival and ending up at the studio in Cheltenham Everyman.

The show starred Paul Southcott as John and Katie McLeod as his daughter Joan.

It was directed by John Bassett of Spaniel in the Works Theatre company

The play was received enthusiastically by audiences and received very good reviews.

Martin is now turning it into a one-hour radio drama.
